Can you review my employment agreement?
Yes, we work with doctors, bankers and other business professionals every day to review non-compete agreements, franchise contracts, partnership agreements, and employment contracts. We can provide you with applicable law and discuss a strategy for preserving your rights and responsibilities.
Will my former employer pay attorneys’ fees?
It depends on the language of the contract. A court will award attorneys’ fees and costs in some circumstances, and we can work with you to discuss each of your options.
What should I do – settle or go to trial?
The decision to seek court action or extrajudicial settlement is one you will have to make on your own. We will provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.
How much will it cost?
No business litigation claim is the same. For a thorough strategy review, it depends on the length of the contract, the extent of the engagement, and if necessary, the time involved with negotiations. Our office is flexible on fees and costs depending on the circumstances of the case. If we must defend a lawsuit, we can discuss a plan to allocate costs and fees to fully litigate the claim.
Will we go to trial?
Most cases are settled before trial. However, it is sometimes difficult to predict whether an ex-employer will file suit for breach of a non-compete contract. Alternatively, we could proactively seek the court’s approval of you remedies under a contract through a declaratory action.
